Be Safe and Courteous by Following Move Over Laws

600 × 463

If you have ever been stuck on the side of the road, you understand how uncomfortable and scary it can be when cars are zooming past you at high speeds. That is why all 50 states have enacted "move over" laws that need to be followed by drivers.

These laws protect all first responders including law enforcement, fire department, paramedics, and tow truck drivers. Basically, if you see flashing lights up ahead then you need to start to move over to give them room.

We here at Pierce Auto Center in Sagle, ID also want to remind you to keep your own safety in mind. Take care not to force your way over or slam on your brakes just because you see lights up ahead. If it is not safe for you to change lanes, slow down and be very mindful of what is happening up ahead. The last thing you want to do is put yourself or others in danger by trying to force a lane change at the last minute.
